Wigs have become an integral part of the beauty industry. They are very comfortable to wear as they allow you to experiment with different hairstyles and hair colors without changing your real hair. And, due to the increasing demand for wigs, many wig suppliers around the world are offering high-quality wigs.

If you want to make your own wig and save some money, read our instructions on how to make a wig with glue.

We had discussed in the previous post how to make a wig using the sewing method. This no-sew approach will make the wig-making process easier if you don't know how to sew properly.

📑Table Of Content:

The thing you need for making wigs

  • Foam sock or mannequin head
  • Lace Closure
  • Weft three strands of hair (if each strand weighs 1 g). You have the option to choose any texture. If you want a layered effect, just choose a length for each of the three tufts. You can use different lengths if you want the total length to be the same.
  • Strong Adhesive Glue
  • Remove the fixing adhesive (in case of adhesive error)
  • Scissors
  • Pearl Head Pin or T-Pin

Step 1: Lay the foundation.

Put a hat on the head of your mannequin. To create a good overall look, make sure it is evenly spaced over the head of the mannequin.

Step 2: Sew the lace in place to close.

Stick the adhesive sticker on the outside of the lace closure. You will need to glue the edges of the zipper together. Also, take care that the color inside the lace does not fade.

After that, put the laces on the lower hood. This is a bit tricky, so make sure you don't yawn yourself while doing this. Also, make sure the lace closure is no more than a quarter of the wig cap.

Once you've finished putting on your wig cap, use a blow dryer to speed up the drying process.

Step 3: Glue the Rails Together.

To start, use two T-pins to secure each end of the weave you're about to glue. Then the excess texture should be cut off.

  1. Then apply to fix glue to the halftone stitches. Also, avoid applying glue to the hair, which will later cause clumps on the hair weft. After applying the glue, insert the weave into the cap of the wig. Remember that the first thread should not be inserted inside the elastic part of the hat (the thickest part of the bottom of the hat). If you do this, your wig won't be able to stretch. And it may be too small for your head.
  2. Then dry the betel nut so that it dries quickly. Then repeat gluing and hooking until the other guides are closed.

Step 4: Cut off the excess lace.

  1. Remove the new wig from the mannequin head and use scissors to remove the excess lace from the clasp. To avoid sharp edges, use long, smooth strokes with scissors to cut the lace along the front and sides of your lace wig. Instead of removing all the laces at once, cut them into small pieces at once. In fact, removing too much lace can change the overall look of a wig.
  2. Also remember that while cutting, tighten the wig lace tightly with your fingers. It allows you to perform even shots. When you're done, check the cut lace again to make sure there are no sharp edges, especially around the forehead.
  3. Then trim off the extra lace on the wig cap.

Step 5: Experiment with the Style of Your New Wig.

Check your wig to see if it fits you and how it looks. You can then make some adjustments to your first wig to make it perfect. Hope you can style it as you like.

However, keep in mind that even if you use human hair buns for your wig, it is best not to heat-style too often. If you are using heat styling equipment to style your wig, be sure to use a heat protectant spray first.

Combined sewing and gluing method.

The instructions above explain how to make a wig using glue. However, many wig wearers now choose to make their own wigs using a combination of sewing and gluing techniques. Instead of sticking the lace fastener, we'll sew it to the wig cap like this.

We are still using bonding glue to set the remaining traces of the texture. The reason we sew on the lace closure is to make it more secure.

This also makes it easier to sew the lace closure to the wig cap. Sewing tracks can be difficult for those unfamiliar with the needle punch method.

On the other hand, it only takes a few simple stitches to close the lace. To secure the lace closure, secure the stitches by making two or three loops at each end.
